Oklahoma City, Okla. - Keep Oklahoma Beautiful (KOB) together with Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) has announced 2018 Roadside Beautification Grant recipients totaling over $18,000 to seven KOB affiliates.
Oklahoma was well-represented at Keep America Beautiful's annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. last night. Awards were presented to Keep Oklahoma Beautiful; the Oklahoma Department of Transportation; the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority; the Department of Agriculture, Food & Forestry; and KOB Affiliate, OKC Beautiful.
Thanks to the generosity of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality, we are able to present several of our affiliate with funding to selected affiliate through our Roadside Beautification and Environmental Beautification grants.
The ODOT Roadside Beautification grant and DEQ Environmental grant are opportunities for affiliates to gain additional funding to better their communities. $40,000 for both programs will be allocated to accepted applicants. Amounts will vary for applicants, determined by the needs of their intended projects. 90% of the funds will be given in January, and the last 10% will be given after the project is completed and wrap-up report is submitted.
